A wind block or a hydro scheme is settled on a tariff bid and a government award, where no article moves a bid. The commercial opening sits between those two: payback arithmetic, repowering economics and fuel switching, all asked in plain language and answered out of ministry pages and aggregator blogs by people who have never commissioned anything.

A facility head with a warehouse roof in Nashik asks 'What is the payback period on a rooftop solar system in Maharashtra'. The model answers with a number of years, a subsidy figure and a net metering rule. Some of it reflects a scheme that closed. None of it comes from an installer who has commissioned a system on that kind of roof. A sustainability lead costing a boiler conversion gets the same treatment: a per-tonne comparison, no mention of monsoon feedstock prices. They act on it. The roof stays on grid tariffs, and you never learn the enquiry existed.

This is the part of energy where the year is not flat. Straw is cheap in November and dear in June. A roof loses output to soiling in the weeks before the monsoon washes it. Wind in Tamil Nadu earns most of its year between May and September. An answer built on an annual figure is wrong for months at a stretch, and the buyer asks in the month he asks. We build the seasonal shape into the pages and into data-assets, then revise on the harvest and the monsoon rather than on a publishing schedule.

Write for the engineer sent to find the flaw

Nobody commits capital here on the seller's page. A facility head's electrical contractor checks the roof and the shading. A lender's technical consultant checks the hydrology. A mill's boiler engineer checks derating, ash and slagging. Those are the readers who decide, and they search for what goes wrong, so blogs cover curtailment on a congested corridor, feedstock that disappears after harvest, and the cases where the arithmetic does not clear. Publishing the limits is how you get past the reader whose job is to object.

When nobody is buying, publish for whoever is reading

Wind and hydro have no enquiry to win. A wind block goes to a tariff bid, a pumped storage scheme to a state concession and a detailed project report. What still moves is who is trusted: the consultant drafting a prequalification note, the lender's adviser sizing the risk, the official writing the specification, the civil engineer choosing an employer. So schema and listings make commissioned capacity and clearances checkable, and digital-pr and linkedin put your named engineers where those four already read. That is standing and recruitment. We will not sell it as a pipeline.

    Rooftop buyers want to see a roof like theirs before they commit capital. The transcript gives a model the specifics; the footage settles the buyer's doubt.

What we would not recommend

  • Instagram. Rooftop solar on Instagram in India is an advertising market for free-solar and subsidy-claim offers. Buying into it brings the enquiry that opens on price and closes on a rival's discount, and it parks your name beside claims about the subsidy you would then spend your time correcting.
  • Reddit. Indian rooftop threads there are dominated by anonymous quotes and price haggling. An installer posting into that reads as touting and gets removed.
  • X. The two arguments that travel on X in Indian solar are subsidy politics and vendor sniping. A facility head working through a tariff revision wants neither, and we would rather not have your name attached to either.

What a lead looks like

A facility head at a manufacturing unit, who has read your Maharashtra payback page and your net billing explainer, writes with his sanctioned load, his last three bills and a roof area.
