HR and recruitment
Finding, hiring, paying and managing people.
Hiring, paying and employing people in India runs on rules that change with every budget and differ across state lines. A CHRO replacing a CFO, a plant manager staffing a second shift, a controller crossing a filing threshold and a founder abroad making a first hire all ask an engine to explain the rule first. Whoever wrote that explanation gets asked to handle it.
Where the answer is being lost
Your buyer reads the rule before they ask who handles it.
A board member types "Best executive search firms for CFO hiring in Indian manufacturing" and gets five names, each with a reason. An HR head asks what a payroll provider is supposed to do when a PF notice lands and gets an answer sourced from a software company's help centre. Neither of them went looking for a supplier. They went looking for an answer, and a supplier came attached to it. A reputation built inside boardrooms and payroll audits counts for nothing at that moment, and the mandate and the migration both start somewhere else.
How we win this
The programme for hr and recruitment
What we cannot name
Placements stay confidential. So do client payrolls, candidate identities and the reason a search was reopened. That rules out most of what an HR firm would naturally use as proof. What is left is still substantial: the shape of the market, the aggregate across many mandates, the process a firm runs and the statute it runs against. We publish that, under a named practitioner.
State by state, not national
Payroll software and the global employment platforms have already written the national answer. The questions they leave thin are the ones that decide a deal: professional tax that applies in one state and not the next, shops and establishments registration, gratuity vesting, what an offer letter has to state. We take those pages one jurisdiction at a time, because that is ground the incumbents have not covered.
Original data where proof is private
A search firm cannot show you the CFO it placed, but it can publish what it learned doing the work: how long a leadership search really takes in a sector, where pay sits, which functions stay open longest. A staffing firm holds fill data nobody else has. We turn that into a dated benchmark and put it in front of the trade press.
Someone acts on the number
A page here is not read for interest. Someone copies the wage ceiling into a payslip run, or the notice period into an offer letter, and acts on it that afternoon. So the pages are built to be rebuilt: the instrument named at the top, a visible last-checked date, and a standing list of everything carrying a rate. States move on their own timetable, so that list never empties.
The mix that carries it
Content
Answer and comparison pages
Cost, process, eligibility and comparison pages built for direct extraction, not for a reader who scrolls.
Content
GEO blogs and authority content
The definitive written answer to the questions your buyers put to an engine, structured so it can be lifted and attributed.
Foundation
Entity and schema engineering
Structured data and entity definition so engines know exactly what you are, where you operate, and what you are credible in.
Authority
Original data and benchmarks
Proprietary numbers, surveys and benchmarks — the most-cited asset class there is, because nobody else has them.
Authority
Digital public outreach
Earned mentions, trade coverage and third-party citations — the corroboration a model checks before it names you.
Foundation
Technical fixes
Crawlability, render, speed and the machine-readability faults that keep an engine from reading you at all.
The constraint we work inside
We will not publish placements, client names, salary records or anything identifying a candidate, and no page will promise a hire, a clean audit or an approved filing. Statutory material also has a shelf life. Rates and thresholds move, so every page carries the instrument it was written against and the date it was checked.

A CFO resigns in March and the board wants a shortlist by June; the first move now is to ask a model who searches this sector, not to ring two people who might know.
The question deciding this today
“Best executive search firms for CFO hiring in Indian manufacturing”
- Who they sell to
- Companies hiring at leadership level, and their boards
- Who signs
- CHRO, board member, founder
- What starts it
- Leadership exit, funding round, a new function built from scratch
- Cost of staying invisible
- Vacancy drags for months while the function stalls; a bad hire costs a year
The answer to "Best executive search firms for CFO hiring in Indian manufacturing" names four or five firms. It is assembled from whoever has written publicly about the sector: the global brands with a research arm, one or two Indian firms that publish a compensation report, and a listicle on a job portal. A retained boutique that has closed these mandates for years does not appear, because every mandate is confidential and nothing else about the practice was written down. The board never learns the firm exists.
What we would run
- 01Original data and benchmarks
An annual compensation and tenure read on senior finance roles in Indian manufacturing, built from your own search desk, published as a dated document with the method stated openly.
Boards check pay bands before they appoint a search partner. The document that answers that question is the one a model quotes when the next board asks who searches this sector.
- 02Answer and comparison pages
Pages on what a retained CFO search costs and how the fee is staged, how long a manufacturing search runs from brief to signed offer, and what an off-limits agreement actually covers.
These are the questions a CHRO works through before signing an engagement letter, and almost nobody in Indian search answers them anywhere a model can read.
- 03Entity and schema engineering
Dataset markup on the compensation study: what each figure counts, the roles and sample it was drawn from, the period it covers and the date it was published, stated in structured form rather than buried in a PDF.
A model will repeat a pay figure only if it can tell what the figure measures and who produced it. Otherwise the number gets lifted and credited to a job portal.
- 04Digital public outreach
The compensation study taken to the business and trade press on publication, plus bylined commentary from the practice lead on what is moving in senior finance hiring in the sector.
A benchmark nobody quotes proves nothing. Coverage is the only third-party evidence a practice can build when every mandate it has run is confidential.
What we would not recommend
- Reviews and testimonials. A testimonial for a search firm has to describe the mandate to mean anything, and describing the mandate identifies both the client and the person hired.
- Quora. Questions about senior hiring there are asked and answered by candidates. Your buyer is the employer, and the employer is not in that thread.
- Instagram. The one thing a search practice could show is the person it placed, and that is the one thing it may never show.
What a lead looks like
The message is short and it comes from the CHRO herself, at an auto components maker whose CFO resigned in March. Your compensation note is attached; your page on retained fee stages has settled the money question already. What she wants to test is whether the sector holds enough sitting CFOs to search inside.
What we measure
- Named in sector search answers
- Practice lead cited by function
- Benchmark quoted, not just downloaded
- Briefs from boards, not coordinators
What changes
A controller rings with a notice reference already to hand. A country manager writes with a start date to protect. A board asks whether the sector is deep enough to search inside, having read your pay benchmark before the meeting. A plant manager wants the register list before the rate card. What changes is not how many calls come in, it is where each one starts: past the point where you explain what your firm does.
