Physical electronics is bought by people who have to be sure before they commit tooling. A hardware engineer, a plant head, a supply chain VP: each researches the mechanism long before a supplier shortlist exists, and most of that research now happens inside an engine. The firms that wrote down how the work is actually done are the ones being named.

A supply chain head diversifying away from one factory asks 'What certifications should an electronics contract manufacturer hold' before an approved vendor list is drawn up. A hardware engineer starting a new board looks up manufacturability limits months before procurement raises an RFQ. The answers come back assembled from distributor content, datasheet PDFs and the handful of global suppliers with a documentation team. The manufacturer with the real process history is not in there, and finds out at the RFQ stage, quoting against a supplier the engineer has already decided they trust.

Publish the actual constraints
Manufacturability questions have real answers: minimum annular ring, layer count against impedance control, what a fab will and will not accept at a given node. So the answer-pages state the tolerance and then the case that breaks it, because this reader has a datasheet open beside the page and stops trusting all of it the moment one number is optimistic. Vague capability pages get skipped. Numbers, limits and named standards get cited.
State the ceiling, not only the capability
Every filter that reaches you is looking for a reason to cut the list. The smallest pitch you place, the largest panel you can run, the lowest volume you will take, the sector you hold no certificate for. Those limits settle more shortlists than any claim about quality does, and most manufacturers publish only the flattering half of the range. The result is enquiries you cannot serve and silence from the ones you could. Schema work puts the whole range on record, ceilings included, and where a member register or a certification body holds the same figures we make them agree, since a scope stated one way on your site and another in a register reads as a contradiction in both. Being excluded accurately costs nothing. Being longlisted wrongly costs an audit day and a name.
Availability is half of every answer
Capability settles the first question and never the second. A buyer who accepts that you can build the thing asks where the plant sits, what a lead time looks like from purchase order, what happens to that number when an allocation hits, and whether there is a second source for the part with the longest wait on it. None of that comes up in a software purchase. Most manufacturers keep it off the site because a published lead time can be quoted back at you, which is precisely why the few who state it, as a range with its conditions and their own historical figures behind it, are the ones an engine has something to say about.
What content cannot decide
Three of the four specialisations here are closed out by audit, reference or price, not by a search result. We will not sell content as a lead engine where that is true. The job is narrower and still worth buying: being credible when a supply chain team draws a longlist, being the source a design engineer specifies from, holding position at requalification. We run the diagnostic first and say plainly which of those you are paying for.

There is no regulator here. The ceiling is commercial. Once a design is frozen or an audit is scheduled, the decision moves to price and site visit, and no amount of published material changes it. Content has to arrive earlier than that, while the specification is still being written.

What we would not recommend
- Reddit. The engineers are there, but they post under employer restrictions, and most of what a design house would want to discuss touches a customer's unannounced part. A brand account in those threads earns little and can be read back to you by somebody's legal team.
- Video and YouTube. There is almost nothing to film. The work is simulation output, sign-off reports and a review meeting, and the parts worth watching belong to a product that has not been announced.
- Directories and profile consistency. General directories carry no field for a process node, a tool licence or a verification methodology, so an entry there says nothing that qualifies you. Where an industry body keeps a member register, we keep that accurate and spend nothing further.
What a lead looks like
There is no enquiry form involved. A VP of engineering, roughly six months from tape-out, asks who wrote the note on requalification after a node change, whether that person is still with you, and whether they would spend forty minutes on a call about a block her team is about to place. The turnkey versus augmentation page had already settled the commercial half in her head. The NDA is sent before the call, the handoff model is requested in writing after it, and two of her leads are on the second one.

What changes
The enquiry arrives at design stage instead of RFQ stage. A hardware engineer writes because your stack-up guidance answered something a distributor page did not, and wants to know if you can hold it at volume. A plant head asks for a deployment scope, having already read what your sensors do when connectivity drops. Both arrive with a specification you helped shape, which is a different conversation from being asked to quote against three others.
