Peec AI Review: Pricing, Features, Alternatives and Where Tools Stop

Peec AI costs $95 to $495 a month. What it tracks, how it compares to Profound, the best alternatives, and how we measure AI visibility.

Peec AI is a Berlin-based AI search analytics platform that tracks how often ChatGPT, Perplexity, Gemini, Google AI Mode and other AI engines mention your brand, which sources they cite, and where competitors appear instead of you. It is the most accessible self-serve option in the category: plans start at $95 a month for 50 prompts tracked daily across three AI models, with unlimited users. We have used Peec at Strategi. Like every AI visibility tool, it is most useful for seeing who AI engines currently name and deciding where to point the work.

TL;DR. Peec AI costs $95, $245 or $495 a month on self-serve plans, depending on how many prompts and models you track, with 15% off for annual billing. It has added gap analysis and recommended actions split into owned and earned media. Profound, the other major name, now sells to brands only through custom Enterprise contracts, which makes Peec the clearer self-serve choice. Our view on the whole category: tools are nice to have for direction, not must have, and they are not a reliable source of exact measurement.

What is Peec AI?

Peec AI launched publicly in February 2025 and has grown fast. TechCrunch reported in May 2026 that Peec crossed $10 million in annualised revenue. That was more than double the $4 million it reported when it raised a $21 million Series A six months earlier. The company has since opened a New York office.

The product follows the logic of an SEO rank tracker, adapted for AI answers. You define prompts your buyers would type, choose which AI models to monitor, and Peec runs those prompts daily. It reports visibility, position, sentiment and share of voice against competitors. In other words, it tracks AI citations the way an SEO tool tracks rankings.

Peec counts usage in "AI answers," calculated as prompts multiplied by models multiplied by days. Its Starter plan works out to 4,500 answers a month. That formula is a useful way to compare any tool in the category, because it shows how much sampling you are paying for.

What does Peec AI do?

Peec's feature set covers four areas: tracking, source analysis, recommendations and technical signals.

  • Tracking at a low entry price. Starter tracks 50 prompts daily across three models for $95 a month, with unlimited users on every plan. Peec says pricing is tied to prompts rather than countries or languages.

  • Source and gap analysis. Peec shows the domains and URLs AI engines retrieved and classifies each source as competitor, editorial, reference or user-generated. Its gap analysis lists sources that name competitors but not you. That gives a team a concrete list of publications and pages to go after.

  • Recommended actions. Peec ranks opportunities to improve visibility and groups them into owned and earned media. It also offers agent actions built on pre-built and custom skills, plus API and MCP access.

  • Technical and commerce signals. Peec includes a crawlability audit covering 40+ AI bots in your robots.txt, AI referral tracking and crawl insights by page. Crawler access is the first thing we check in any technical AI search audit. Peec also offers SKU-level AI Shopping tracking for brands that upload a product catalogue, and flags prompts where AI answers carry sponsored placements.

In our experience, the most practical value is a quick read on which brands AI engines are naming in a category right now. That shapes where the work goes first.

How much does Peec AI cost?

Peec AI publishes four brand plans. The prices below are monthly rates from Peec's pricing page on 16 September 2026.

Every self-serve plan includes daily tracking and unlimited users. Advanced adds multi-country tracking and a Looker Studio integration. Enterprise adds API access, single sign-on, custom prompt setup and the widest model coverage.

Adding a fourth model costs $30 a month on Starter, $70 on Pro and $140 on Advanced. Budget for that if your buyers split their research across ChatGPT, Google AI Mode, AI Overviews and Perplexity. For the rest of an AI search budget, see our breakdown of AI search optimization costs.

Where do AI visibility tools stop?

These limits apply to every AI visibility tool on the market, not to one product. They come from what we see running prompts for clients every week.

The same prompt rarely returns the same answer

When we run the same prompt twice, manually or through a tool, the overall response is often different. Some prompts settle on a consistent answer, but many do not. SparkToro measured this at scale in research run with AI tracking startup Gumshoe.ai. Across 2,961 runs of 12 prompts through ChatGPT, Claude and Google's AI in late 2025, there was less than a 1 in 100 chance of getting the same list of brands twice.

That is why tool results and manual checks so often disagree in our work. AI gives one answer, not ten links, and that answer keeps moving. Any single AI answer is noise; only the pattern across many runs points somewhere.

Tools do not show how they reach their numbers

Most AI visibility tools run a set of queries and build their reports on assumptions drawn from those samples. They rarely explain their back end in enough detail to judge accuracy. We do not think any tool currently has an accurate way of producing exact AI visibility data.

That does not make tools useless. It makes them directional: they show who is being named and help decide where to focus. The 2026 AI search visibility data shows engines disagree on sources even when they agree on brands, which is another reason to read tool output as direction. Treat a visibility dashboard as a compass, not a scale.

Tools find gaps; the work closes them

A gap analysis can show that a competitor keeps appearing through review sites, trade publications or community threads where you are absent. Getting your brand into those sources takes real work. You have to earn coverage, publish the right content, and fix the technical issues that stop AI crawlers reading your pages.

That work is what changes what AI engines say, and it is why ranking well does not automatically make AI recommend you. A tool's report describes the gap; people close it.

How do we measure AI visibility instead?

For tracking results, we prefer first-party data: Google Search Console, Bing Webmaster Tools and Microsoft Clarity. These record what actually happened on a site rather than estimating it from sampled prompts.

Microsoft Clarity shows:

  • the queries behind AI citations

  • which LLMs the visits come from

  • which pages are being cited

  • branded versus unbranded citation counts

  • AI bot activity on the site

  • how much total traffic AI sources drive

A prompt sampler cannot produce that attribution data, and Clarity is free. Here is how to set Clarity up for AI visibility. For a structured starting point, see what an AI visibility audit covers.

Peec AI vs Profound: which should you choose?

Peec AI and Profound now sell to different buyers.

Profound's brand pricing page no longer lists the $99 and $399 self-serve plans it offered in August. They came off between late August and mid-September 2026, the same weeks it announced a $180 million Series D. That leaves Peec as the clearer self-serve option for brands. The full picture is in our Profound review.

What are the alternatives to Peec AI?

The right alternative depends on the job.

  • Free first-party measurement. Microsoft Clarity, Google Search Console and Bing Webmaster Tools record real AI-referred visits, citations and crawler activity on your site. They do not sample prompts across engines, but they measure what actually happened.

  • Enterprise tracking. Profound Enterprise covers nine engines with API, SSO and SOC 2, through a sales process and a negotiated contract.

  • SEO suites with AI modules. Several SEO platforms now include AI visibility features alongside traditional SEO data. This breakdown of AI SEO tools covers what each type is for.

  • A GEO agency. An agency does the technical, content and earned-media work that changes AI answers, and reports progress on it. Tools can sit alongside that as a directional layer. See how SEO and GEO work overlaps for how the two fit together.

Frequently asked questions

How much does Peec AI cost?
Peec AI's self-serve brand plans cost $95 a month for Starter, $245 for Pro and $495 for Advanced, as listed on its pricing page on 16 September 2026. Starter tracks 50 prompts across three AI models. Pro tracks 150 prompts across two projects, and Advanced tracks 350 prompts with multi-country tracking and five projects. Every self-serve plan includes daily tracking and unlimited users, and annual billing takes 15% off. Each additional AI model costs $30, $70 or $140 a month depending on the tier. Enterprise is custom-priced on annual terms and adds API access, single sign-on and coverage of up to 13 models.
Which AI models does Peec AI track?
Peec AI self-serve plans let you choose three models to track, and additional models are a paid add-on. The model options on its pricing page include ChatGPT, Google AI Mode, Google AI Overviews, Microsoft Copilot, Perplexity and Gemini. Enterprise plans include all available models, up to 13, with daily or weekly tracking. Choose your three based on where your buyers actually research.
Is Peec AI better than Profound?
Peec AI suits companies that want self-serve tracking with public pricing and monthly billing. Profound suits enterprises that need broad engine coverage, API access, SSO and SOC 2, plus a platform that drafts content and manages AI search ads. Since Profound's brand pricing page now lists only a free one-time trial and custom Enterprise, the practical difference is access. A team can start on Peec today with a card, while starting on Profound as a brand means a sales conversation and a contract. Our Profound review covers its plans in detail.
Are AI visibility tools accurate?
AI visibility tools give useful direction, not exact measurement. They run prompts through AI engines and build reports on assumptions drawn from those samples, and they rarely explain how their back end works. Because the same prompt often returns a different response each time, tool numbers and manual checks frequently disagree. We use tools to see who AI engines currently name and to set direction. For results, we rely on first-party data from Google Search Console, Bing Webmaster Tools and Microsoft Clarity. Together they record real queries, cited pages, bot activity and AI-referred traffic.
Does Peec AI have a free trial?
Peec AI's website offers a free trial through its app sign-up. Its pricing page does not state the trial length or limits, so check those when you sign up. To get a useful read from a trial, set up prompts that match real buyer questions rather than branded searches, and watch the pattern over time. AI answers vary between runs, so a few days of data shows variation more than it shows your true visibility.
Can Peec AI improve my AI visibility?
Peec AI can show where to focus, but visibility changes only through the work itself. Its gap analysis lists sources that cite competitors and not you, and its recommended actions rank opportunities across owned and earned media. Acting on that involves four kinds of work: fixing crawl access, publishing content that answers the questions buyers ask, strengthening the pages that drive revenue, and earning mentions on the review sites, publications and communities AI engines draw from. Together that builds AI presence, which is what the tool then measures.
What does a GEO agency cover?
A GEO agency covers AI visibility work end to end. At Strategi, that includes: technical coverage, so AI crawlers can reach and read your site content coverage across your website, including the money pages new content going out presence on the other surfaces AI engines check when they fan a question out into background searches

We report progress on each area in depth, backed by first-party data from Search Console, Bing Webmaster Tools and Microsoft Clarity. Tools can support that as a directional layer. See our GEO services for the full scope.
